Keyscript - the alphabetical Pitman Shorthand
Hello. I'm Janet. I am a qualified, experienced Pitman shorthand teacher.
I have created a shorthand system based on Pitman, but which uses only
the lower case letters of the alphabet. This system is called KEYSCRIPT.
It can be handwritten or typed. The saving in writing time with Keyscript
is on average 60%, so you will be able to write 2½ times as fast as normal
English.
CORRESPONDENCE COURSE
There is a correspondence course for Keyscript called 'The Lightning
Guide to Keyscript'. It is fully integrated with exercises for each section
of theory. The theory is in 9 logical stages, each stage building on the one
before.
There is a hidden quotation in the exercises, which is totally revealed only
near the end of the course.
The course book contains the answers to all exercises so you can tell
whether you are on the right track. In addition, you can email me at any
time and I will help with any questions you may have.
There is a unique speed chart in the book which enables the dictation of
any sentence/paragraph in the exercises at any speed from 20 to 150
words per minute.
Keyscript can also be used to speed up ordinary typing. At the back of
the 'Lightning Guide' there is a list of common words and phrases in
Keyscript and English that can be fed into the AutoCorrect function in
Microsoft Word in order to increase typing speed.
The cost of the course is $110 (Australian) with airmail postage included.

I gained my Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Psychology. During a break from Uni, I
went to Business College for a year, where I studied shorthand, typing and bookkeeping. My
interest in shorthand endured and I later obtained a Diploma of Teaching Pitman Shorthand.
